GIF Experiments: 15 (String Theory as a Primal Emotion)
by Steven McCabe

I have been slowly working my way through Marina Tsvetaeva’s ‘Art in the Light of Conscience – Eight Essays on Poetry’ and read yesterday about Zhukovsky’s translation of Goethe’s Erlking. There is a child, on a horse, held in his father’s arms… All new to me. I borrowed the image and added that bit about ‘the only city’ and related the child’s emotions to String Theory. To not do justice to Tsvetaeva’s essay titled Two Forest Kings I’ll just call it mesmerizing.
Primal emotion shakes me up. Hot movement.
Wow Elana! Do those words work together or what!
What! Yes, they sure do.
Super. I’m having trouble with my efforts. I keep making files so large that they choke the system. They look great on my computer but are too large to upload to the net. I’ll keep at it.
Thank you. Best wishes, it will all shake down.
It’s been decades since I read about string theory and now I should revisit it. Why? I am very close to Zen Buddhism and in Zen we have known for over 1000 years that everything is connected to everything else. Of course, this was laughed at by many, but not long ago quantum physics confirmed this statement.
I once had a student back when I was teaching young people who went on to art school. I ran into her again when she worked in an art supply store. She told me she saw golden threads connecting everybody in the store. I think I showed up soon (minutes? hours?) after this happened.
