I was ‘barely old.’
In 2015, when I did this drawing, I was barely old.
Leonard Cohen already said the more poetic almost young.

Ten years later & more than barely old I am committed to my most energy-intensive work to date.
A whirlwind out-of-the-blue arrived to stir the cauldron.
I completed a large work which became the first half of an unexpected diptych.
Work #1 (of the diptych) discussed here.

Work #2 (of the diptych) discussed here.

When I made the first mark on the first roll of paper, I sensed the volume of energy arising.
The whirlwind stirred up a triptych. An unexpected triptych.
One-third of my way into the final roll of 5′ X 33′ paper, I needed to deal with matters requiring my attention.

Celtic bird-man (in warm black watercolour) is where & when the project paused on Work #3.
This pause allows me time to imagine & sketch multiple possibilities. Unexpected possibilities.
I will complete this daunting 5′ X 100′ work as soon as possible.
