Later he pretended the moon was a mystical source of enchantment
by Steven McCabe
He fell in love with a visionary
who cared for a tree.
Her visions became commonplace,
although beautiful,
as she cared for the tree.
The knight sometimes
aimed
his telescope
at a leaf dangling in the wind,
or a branch bent low, or bark,
or beds of moss
on the edges,
warming.
Invincible
sunlight
streaming.
strikes near to my heart, Steven.
Thank you Jack. I’m sure it must. Your wood-working (among other artistry) is a ‘real/vision’ itself.
Commonplace visions, ha ha. Lovely.
Ha! Yes. I can see you would enjoy that mrsdaffodil! The way you describe adventures in gardening (dovetailed with art making) is always an inspired vision.
Aww. Thank you.
Gorgeous images, Steve. I especially like the first one–those glowing symbols, suggestive and mysterious. And the somewhat non-plussed-looking knight.
Thank you Elana. I’m glad to hear about that first image. And that knight! Yes, he certainly is non-plussed! I would love to know the context of the engraving.
Pure Steven – pure magic – I’m also very with Elana’s comment…
Thanks very much John. And I’m glad you like that first one also. It didn’t start with a knight. When I found his image I couldn’t resist working the designs around him.
Beautiful, your Knight looks sad but he is warming, like your beds of mosses on the edges, warming to the colours of your art and poetry.
What you say is so interesting maskednative. The engraving of the medieval knight is granted feelings (like in Oz maybe) by his new context. It’s a very emotional and visual suggestion. Poetic also. Thank you! :- )
That my words resonated with something in you makes this vision very special. A picture paints a thousand words and sometimes, its difficult to find the ones that tell us what we need to know, but with the suggestion that your knight is granted feelings, his growing awareness, makes this such a beautiful post. Thank you.
Thank you again. Feelings hand in hand with growing awareness. Beautiful.
This is so mystical. I like the halo in the pics, a sign of Enlightenment.
Thank you Philip.
Welcome.
